Creating image captions

Need to explain images you put in your document? You can do so in the surrounding text, and you can also create text that’s clearly associated with the images using captions.

To caption an image in Word, follow these steps.

  1. Left-click the image once. A thin black border lines the image, with small black boxes at each corner.
  2. Right-click the image and choose Insert Caption. The Insert Caption dialog appears.
  3. Type your caption in the space provided and click OK. The caption appears below the image (or above, if you chose that option).
