Printing costs per page are pretty low for most people, but if you’re interested in using a little less paper when you print, read on.
Standard print dialogs give you the option to use less paper if you choose. The video below outlines the ability of printing multiple pages per sheet. This tends to be a great way of saving paper when printing PDFs of presentations, since the text is larger on presentation slides. (If you have the original presentation file, PowerPoint offers similar print options.) For longer documents with smaller print, though, there’s no sense in straining your eyes – print one sheet per page instead.
You can also save paper in ways not mentioned in the video:
- Your printer might offer duplex (double-sided) printing. If it does, turn it on and cut your paper usage in half.
- Use the empty side of pages you no longer need.
- And a bonus tip: you can make your toner or ink last longer by printing in “draft mode” or your printer’s equivalent.
