The Arctic Obiter, a publication of the Law Society of the Northwest Territories, reprinted an article of mine about law practice management using software as a service (SaaS, aka cloud computing).
While I wrote this two-page article for lawyers, the business concepts surrounding SaaS that I discussed will make sense to anybody who manages their own technology.
What is Saas? Briefly:
In a SaaS (often referred to as “cloud computing”) setup, software and data reside on the software publisher’s servers. Users typically access applications using only standards-compliant web browsers.
If you want to learn a little about SaaS and how it can fit into a business (a topic far too wide for a simple blog post or two-page article), check out the article at either the Obiter’s site (in a PDF download – page 16) or on my website.
